A very unusual and striking table vesta / matchbox - a beautiful and functional item. The base is made from a beautiful piece of Bristol Blue Glass which has a very distinctive colour and sheen. This is topped by a silver rim which supports four curved legs for a silver box. This Vesta / Matchbox is hinged and holds itself open once opened. The vesta also has a striker on one end. This is a really well proportioned and striking item. The silver rim is hallmarked and the box is hallmarked inside. Inside the box it alongside the hallmark is the retailers mark for J C Vickery Regent Street. This retailer held numerous Royal Warrants for not only the British Monarchy but Royalty across Europe. This really shows the quality and uniqueness of this piece. This really is a great piece to be displayed or used for its original purpose.

This item really is in fantastic condition with just a couple of very tiny dings to the silver rim which are only really noticeable on close inspection. The glass is totally free from damage. The legs of the stand are free from damage as is the box. The hallmarks on the rim are rubbed but still legible. The hallmarks inside the lid are crisp and clear.
