This is a small size decorative silver vinaigrette with a decorative top. The top decoration centres around a rectangular cartouche which is unengraved. The back is much plainer with just a simple central engraved decoration which is in keeping with the period. The inside opens to reveal a plain and simple grille and a gilded interior. A lovely example of a miniature silver vinaigrette.
Assay Office: Birmingham
Maker: John Bettridge

Condition -
Excellent with no dents, dinks, splits, damage or repairs. There are very minor marks due to age and use but these are commensurate with age and light use. The decoration is still clean and crisp and is not rubbed. The hinges are all good and in working order and the box itself opens and closes well. The inner gilding is complete and in superb condition. The hallmarks are good with a small amount of rubbing but are clear and legible.
