A really rare Victorian silver castle top Card Case by Nathaniel Mills. This has a high relief panel on each side. It depicts Kenilworth Castle in ruins on one side, pictured from the west side which is very unusual, and Warwick Castle on the other side. The central panels are edged and enhanced by hatched decoration. The sides and top are plain and unengraved. Hallmarked to the bottom of the base and inside the lid this is a stunning card case. This is a great example of a castle top card case by a renowned silversmith.

Condition -
This card case is in great condition with no loss of detail to the high areas or the engraved decoration. There are a couple of very minor pin head dinks to the edges but these are commensurate with age and light use and do not detract from the overall attractiveness of this lovely card case. The hinge is in good order with no movement and works well. The card case shuts well and fits snugly. The hallmarks are good but the anchor is a little rubbed.
