An unusual bottle shaped Victorian silver Morton's patent "The Maze" vesta. This is shaped like a bottle with shield shaped cartouche, profusely decorated with a foliate pattern all over. The twist mechanism is unique to these Vestas and as the top is twisted round the mechanism retracts to reveal a hole in the top to remove the matches. A great piece of collectable silver. This doesn't have English hallmarks but is stamped "Sterling Silver" to the base. An unusual Vesta in fantastic condition this is a great piece of Victorian Silver to add to a collection or as a stand alone item.
Condition -
This vesta is in fantastic condition with no damage. The decoration is clear and crisp with no rubbing. The vesta opens and closes well. This vesta shows only some minor surface marks / light scratches on the cartouche which are associated with minor use and polishing and are commensurate with age and light use.
