A really striking Victorian silver Card Case. This has a really crisp and well defined engine turned decoration with a border and Fleur de Lys to each corner on the front and the back. The front has the addition of a oval cartouche with an elaborate floral border and a central, period monogram. This comes in its original leather case which is purple lined and although this has seen better days it is still a lovely addition to a fantastic piece of silver. Silver pieces by George Unite are always good quality and usually very detailed setting them apart from the pieces of many other Silversmiths of the period, and this card case is no exception. This is a super piece of Victorian silver.
Assay Office: Birmingham

Condition -
This card case is in great condition with just one very small dent to one corner - see pictures. The decoration is crisp without any rubbing. There are very light and minor surface marks which are commensurate with age and light use. Hallmarks are good. The hinge is in good order with no movement and works well. The card case shuts well and fits snugly. Original case has seen better days with slight fraying to the fabric on the inside of the lid. The outside leather is in tact with scuffs and scraps as would be expected on a piece of this age. The box opens and shuts properly.
