A very rare English solid silver travelling shaving brush. This is a super item and is designed to unscrew and fit into the tubular hollow handle which acts as a compact container for the brush during travelling. The main body has an all over engine turned decoration which is incredibly striking and smart. This section is engraved with a Garter Insignia so this was owned by a Nobleman of the time who was a member of the Knights of the Realm. The centre of the Garter Insignia is engraved with three initials KPM. The lid is again engine turned in a radial pattern which again is really smart. All three parts are clearly hallmarked. This really is a very high quality and unusual item of Victorian silver.

Condition -
This shaving brush is in fantastic condition with no damage to the case / handle. This has a great decoration which is crisp and unrubbed. The hallmarks are all good. The brush holder itself has some minor bruises through use and age but these are minor - see pictures. The brush itself is in great condition and still has a good shape to it, The screw mechanism is not damaged and is still tight. the lid fits very well too. A lovely piece with just very minor surface marks due to age and light use which are commensurate with age and light use.
