An Elizabeth II silver and glass dressing table jar.  The lid is decorated with a hand engraved "engine turned" pattern and a decorative flower group.  This has a mirror inside the lid.  Hallmarked to the side of the lid this was made by a highly respected silversmiths of the period who were known and respected for the quality of their pieces.  A lovely quality piece of collectable silver for use or display.

Assay Office: Birmingham

Maker: Adie brothers

Date: 1957

Condition -

Overall, this dressing table pot is in very good condition.  There is one tiny dent to the top of the lid, but this isn't detrimental.  The glass base has two tiny nibbles around the rim.  There is some blue glue on the rim of the glass base - see pictures but again this is not visible when the lid is on so is of no detriment to the piece.  There are light surface marks to the silver lid which are commensurate with age and light use. The lid fits snugly and appears original to the glass.  The hallmarks are slightly rubbed on the makers mark and assay mark but are still totally legible.
