A very decorative silver card case profusely decorated with a foliate pattern to the front and back with plain sides. It has a unengraved unusual shaped cartouche to the front and the decoration is really striking. The sides are shaped but are plain with no decoration. A beautiful collectable silver card case of obvious high quality.
Assay Office: Birmingham
Maker: William M Hayes
Date: 1897
Condition -
Overall this is in very good condition with just a couple of tiny dinks to the top and bottom corners. There are some dark marks in the scroll edges & some light surface marks on the cartouche which are commensurate with age & light use. The decoration is crisp & without wear. The makers mark is rubbed but otherwise the hallmarks are good. The hinge is good and the case shuts well.
