A lovely and unusual George III round solid silver vinaigrette. This is a silver gilt vinaigrette from a Georgian silversmith famous for producing high quality card cases and boxes and vinaigrettes. This is a great example of an unusually shaped vinaigrette and is a highly collectable piece of Georgian Silver.
Assay Office: London
Maker: John Linnit
Date: 1817
Condition -
Overall this is in good condition. The gilt is rubbed / faded but this is rubbed equally all over. There are some very tiny nicks to the top rim. The hinges are both good with no damage or repair. Hallmarks are good. The decoration is sharp still without any rubbing. All the above is not overly detrimental for an unusual George III piece.
