A George IV hallmarked silver vinaigrette by Edward Smith. This silver vinaigrette has an unusual engraved decoration with a central cartouche and border. The decoration is really crisp and still sharp with minimal wear. The base is engraved with a simpler more traditional design. The grille is decorative but fairly simple in design. The hallmarks inside the lid and base are clear. By a well established and one of the most renowned silversmiths of the period this is a really quality example of a vinaigrette to add to a collection or start a new one.
